Personally, I’d just name her Hattie. I think you could get away with it, and it saves a lot of headaches. Case in point: My parents fell in love with the name Ally, but thought it was nicknamey and decided to name me Allyson, but as a legal name only. They always called me Ally, and that’s the name I identify with. I have to correct a lot of people. Good luck!
