Vivienne looks most feminine and that’s important, I think. Vivian/Vivien can also be a man’s name. It isn’t very often anymore, but still...

I think people voting for Vivienne don’t realize that it’s pronounced differently than Vivian. Vivian is pronounced "viv-ee-in" and Vivienne is pronounced "viv-ee-YEN." Don’t get caught up in making a name look frilly and girly; think about which pronunciation you actually want. I have family in France and Switzerland, so I prefer Vivienne, but if you’re going to go with the Vivian pronunciation, just spell it that way.

Thank you! I prefer the viv-ee-YEN spelling, just worry that it’s too long because all the names I like paired with it, either as first or middle, are longish aswell.

In the US people pronounce Vivian and Vivienne the same exact way. Take a poll, I bet you I am right!

If you like the French pronunciation, then I’d go with that spelling! And it doesn’t matter that people in the US would pronounce it like Vivian because they would still be wrong. I think Vivienne is beautiful!
