Jesse vs. More popular vs. Less popular
I have loved the name Jesse/Jessie for both sexes by entire life. That is not even a little bit of an exaggeration. As a kid, I named everything Jesse or Jessie. I’m now 31 and still like it as much as ever. I will be having a little boy and now I am seriously considering naming him Jesse. I have met a few Jessicas but never a male Jesse. However, I am aware that a certain tv show might make the name very popular for little boys, in the next few years. Do you think Jesse is more popular , less popular or the same since Breaking Bad? I just don’t want to pick the name and find ten other babies with the same one. Thanks for any comments~ Grace

I always think of Full House when I hear Jesse! I guess with Breaking Bad it covers the spectrum of personality types! I haven’t heard it get much use, but at least it’s known so that’s a good thing. Great choice by the way!

My brother-in-law is Jesse Dylan. I love it! I am Jessica but I never go by Jessie. When people try, I say no. I do go by Jess sometimes, though. I’ll call Jesse and say, "Hey, Jess, it’s Jess!"

Jesse sounds super dated and girly to me. I would say it’s less popular than before, but that there’s a reason for that.

My recently departed grandmother was named Jessie after her grandfather, Jesse. I love the name for either sex.

Jesse is a great boy name! Not my style but I still appreciate this good, solid, male name. I don’t think it’s too popular.
