I don’t think it’s that common, but more girls have it than boys.

Riley is very common nowadays for both genders, but especially girls. It’s not a bad name, though.

Very common on boys and girls, but if you really love it, I don’t think that should deter you!
Maybe Reynard nn Reynie or Raymond nn Raymie?

Name popularity varies greatly depending on where you live. I only know 2 Riley’s and both are boys. One is 5 yrs and the other is 17 yrs.

Yes, it is a popular name for both boys and girls now a days. But that shouldn’t matter. If you love the name, then use it!
Though I do prefer it on a girl...

Personally, I don’t see what the problem is with common names. I can understand a person’s reasoning for not wanting a common name, but to not want them so badly that you refuse a name you love just because it’s common doesn’t make sense to me. If you like Riley, then point out to your husband that there’s a reason the names are so popular, which is because they’re good names. GL! :)

I always thought Riley was a boys name that ended up as a girl’s name kind of like Robin, my nephew is Riley. It’s a nice name. If your hubs Hates the name, maybe you could compromise and make it a middle name but try it out for a while on a doll and see if he likes it when he gets used to it.

For a boy, no. But he’d undoubtedly have several girl Riley’s in his class.
