Gwendolyn nn Gwen Eve vs. Averianna Eve vs. Emily Alexis

I really like the name Gwen, but I never hear the name Gwendolyn. Is it to out dated? I came across Averiannah on another board. I’m sure it is made up, but I like it. My husband wanted to name my son Avery but I was worried he would be teased because it’s used on girls. I figure if we were to use Averianna he could call her Avery. I’ve always liked Emily, but it’s so popular. Opinions please, Thanks!

I have 3 boys Andrew James 10, Anthony Joseph 7, and Ethan Michael 2, Ethan is the one my husband wanted to name Avery Michael. Also we weren’t trying to go with an A J theme it just happened that way at the very last minute.

I’ve never really cared for Felicity, but thanks for your opinion :). -OP

I wouldnt name my daugher Averianna if 2 boys had A’s and one was an E. I like Emily Alexis or Gwendolyn Eve

I like Gwendolyn Eve best. Very pretty! I don’t think Gwendolyn is very dated. It was most popular in the 50s and 60s, but it doesn’t sound overly dated and it seems to be making a small comeback. Gwendolyn Eve is pretty and elegant.

Averianna is too over the top. It sounds and looks rather silly. It would also give you another A name and Ethan would be the only one with an E name. I’d don’t think he’d feel left out, but it just seems kind of of kilter.

Emily is a lovely name, but so common and overused.

I like that you are considering your husband in naming you daughter Avreianna (i like the spelling Avrianna without the e). However you do only have one child with and E name and everyone else would have and A name. I like Gwendolyn alot though.
