Krimson vs. Crimson

It’s a boy! For some reason, I just fell in love with this name. It’s different and unique. I’ve never heard someone with this name before. Of course, I know it’s also a color, but it’s no different than naming your daughter Violet. My question is, which spelling should I use? Also, if you could leave some middle name suggestions, that would be perfect! Thanks! -Anna

I like the name but for some reason it sounds a little feminine to me, I can’t quite put my finger on why but I just thought I’d say.

First Poster: I like Crimson Oliver! :)

Second Poster: Really? When I first saw the name, I immediately thought big, strong, and kind of warrior like. Thanks for the honest opinion though!

Ok, sorry, but when I think of the name Crimson I feel like he’s going to get called Crimson Tide which would be cool if it’s wasn’t a nickname for a women’s period.

Well, now that I think about it, I can see why you’d think it sounds a little feminine. Maybe it could be used as a unisex name? Like Kennedy or Avery.

When I think Crimson Tide, I think Alabama football.

Actually it is a popular name in Alabama for fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Spelled both ways for boys and girls!

I totally agree. I’m all for Roll Tide baby! But...... I think if this kid isn’t living in the South (where the SEC rules) that he’s gonna get compared to a period... I just have to be honest because that would really suck.

We live in Georgia! So, we do in fact live in the south. I totally let Alabama Crimson Tide slip my mind! My husband would not be happy. I’m not even going to mention to him that I liked this name! LOL. He’d kill me for sure! -Anna

I’ve never heard of a woman’s period referred to as a crimson tide! LOL

I love it! Kudos to you for thinking outside the box. I think it’s fresh, fun, and masculine. I do prefer the traditional spelling.

My favorite middle names are Crimson Elliot and Crimson Oliver. Something about the triple syllable middle name just seems to flow...

I would’ve assumed that Crimson was a girl, but I especially would’ve assumed that if it were spelled Krimson. For some reason, changing names to a K spellings always make it look more feminine. I just wanted to also say that I’ve heard of a woman’s period having been referred to as a Crimson Tide, and I’m not sure I’d want that association for my daughter, let alone my son.
