I went to college with a man named Micah and sometimes his friends would joke and call him Meeka. I love the name Micah, but do not like Mike. I don’t particularly like nicknames. Do any of you know a Micah and can tell me about how the name has worked for them and if they have a nickname? Thanks!

Micah is a handsome name. Don’t know anyone named Micah. Any name can be made fun of. Since you don’t like nicknames then just use the full name of Micah. There are many people that use their full name and many people that don’t like nicknames. Micah is a great name.

I actually know a girl Micah (spelled Mika). She didn’t have a nickname.

My nephews name is micah! I think it is a fantastic name. I also know a man named micah and I’ve never heard of any nickname given to him. I would imagine really the only logical nickname would be mike but if you and your family call him micah then that shouldn’t be an issue. I say go for it, it’s a great name!

For the longest time I really thought that Micah was said like Mee-kuh. I’ve always found it super girly sounding, like a feminine form of Michael. I’ve a friend who has a son named this, and she doesn’t have a nickname for him. Her daughter has a unisex name, and honestly, I would’ve assumed she had two girls had I just heard the names.

A friend of mine is named Micah--great guy and the name fits him well. The only "nickname" I’ve ever heard him called by was his last name shortened... so no issues there. I think it’s a great name and am considering using it as a middle name for my son! good luck!
