I love the name Charlotte. It’s such a beautiful name. I see nothing wrong with using it. If you don’t mind popularity or that two family friends have the name, then you should use it. I say love for a name should trump popularity.

It’s too popular, and you know that firsthand because you already have two friends that have a daughter with this name. Be unique! Choose something that doesn’t become just one of many. There are lots of other nice names, Charlotte isn’t the only one.

My mom is named Charlotte and she is almost 60. When she was named Charlotte, it was a pretty unique name believe it or not and it was considered old fashioned even back then! Now though, Charlotte is getting more popular, but I love the name and the nickname Lottie or Sharlie/Charlie... so go for it :)

I have never liked the name Charlotte.
I also would not use a name that other close friends have used, unless it was my absolute favorite name in the world that I had my heart set on before they had their kids.

I love the name Charlotte, but at this point I think I would only consider it for a middle name. It’s just so popular.
