I like it for a girl. Better spelled Eliot or Elliot though.

No. I don’t get this trend at all. At least spell it Elliette so it looks like a girl’s name. There are so many pretty El- names I don’t understand why this masculine boy’s name is so appealing.

No, it’s a BOYS name. Not a unisex name.

It was the name of the female resident on the TV comedy Scrubs with Zach Braff. That is the only female Elliott I have ever heard of. And even that kind of seemed like a joke. I don’t think it works very well.

I love Elliot on a boy and the thing that I mind most about it being trendy on girls is that it’s going to ruin it for boys. I’ve heard parents say they don’t want to use it for fear that their son will be seen as having a girly name. Which is awful because it’s a true boys name. Can’t parents just leave boys names to boys? There are plenty of unisex names that don’t have an all-male history.

No, all boy

I don’t think it is all boy b/c of course you can get ellie/elle out of it. It isn’t unheard of on girls. I probably wouldn’t use it, but it is okay for a girl.

It was a joke on Scrubs. She was named Elliott because her dad wanted a boy. And now people are giving their daughters this joke of a name. I don’t get it.

No boy names are all boy anymore, unfortunately. But I fail to see anything feminine about Elliott. It’s like naming a girl Leo (which I’m sure people have done).

Love it. I think it’s so girly sounding while not be overly frilly. I also really like the nicknames Ellie and Ella.

It’s the kind of name uneducated people would give their kid. The kind of TV/Tabloid rot you’d expect out of the lower class.

How is this name not girly? You can get the nickname Elle/Ellie/Ella, and it ends in the same sound as Scarlett/Violet/Charlotte.

I think names like this are okay on a girl if they are a family surname or have some special meaning to you, but if you don’t have Elliott as a maiden name, it just looks stupid. My maiden name is Ambrose, and I’m considering using it as a first or middle name if I ever have a daughter, but I wouldn’t use it if it didn’t have meaning to me.

No, its a boys name and just because it has Elli in doesn’t change that - you can get Ann from Andrew does that make Andrew unisex? Absolutely not!

love it as a name period, for any gender

I love Elliott but only on a boy. I love and much prefer Eleanor, Eloise, Eliza, Elsa etc. for a girl.
