How important vs. are vs. intials?

I love the idea of giving my baby boy who is due in November my mom’s maiden name and my maiden name. His name would be Parker McKay but the problem is our last name is Stuart, so his initials would be PMS. My husband really loves both names as well but he’s concerned about his son having those initials. Do people pay close attention to initials, should we change his first or middle name? Please help! Thanks! Amanda

I’d change it. What about Parker Levi or Parker James is nice.

Parker McKay is cute, but PMS really are bad initials and it does matter. Parker Levi is really cute, maybe you should save McKay as a mn for a future child. other mn ideas
Parker Benjamin
Parker Chance
Parker Declan
Parker Lucas
Parker Nathaniel
Parker Rowan

I think initials are very important only when they spell out something embarrassing.
I definitely wouldn’t want my child to have PMS as initials.

Just ask yourself how many times your full initials have come up in your life... virtually never. Initials aren’t that important and PMS isn’t that bad. You could always use two middle names to avoid those initials though, I personally like more than one mn.

Change the middle name. Parker is a nice first name. McKay looks a bit feminine for a boy. Also, the Mc and Mac names are way too trendy.

I would personally avoid those initials. It is a great name but PMS would be awful initials to have. Maybe add another middle name of importance Parker Mckay______ Stuart or Parker _______Mckay Stuart.

I think the answer is to give your son his own special name and have two middle names. Every child deserves their own name and not just borrowed ones from ancestors. I am sure there is a name you both love. This would also avoid the initial problem. However I do think McKay is a name used by girls nowadays so your son may come to resent this, perhaps just Mac or Max instead?
eg Ross Parker Mac Stuart
or
Ross Parker Max Stuart

Initials are important because often we just initial documents without signing our full name.
McKay is now considered a girly name so your son will not appreciate this when he grows up I especially if he has girls in his class with the same, or similar, fashionable Mac.... names.

I personally don’t think it matters. Most people won’t know his middle name and most initial documents only ask for first and last name. And even if they do ask for Middle initial who cares. There’s More important things to worry about in life then that.

The problem I see is that Parker, even though I love it for a boy, is used quite frequently on a girl, as well as McKay. So if he shares his names with girls and his initials are PMS, he might get some major teasing.
