Rosemary Kay vs. nickname vs. Rory

Hi lovely mums :) I’d like a bit of help with naming our sweet girl. I’ve posted once before. We are the mum and dad to three little ones- Micah is five, Grace is three, and Annie just turned two. We’re expecting another little girl and I love Rosemary Kay (Mary is a family name, as is Kay). I also love the name Rory, but I don’t think it matches the classiness of the other three. I was thinking the other day, and the first two letters of Rosemary are RO and the last two are RY. Together=Rory. Could we make this work? What are your opinions? Thanks a bunch!

I like Rory. It does not have the classic feel, however she can use it if she desires and it’ll be trendy. Once she’s older she’ll probably go back to Rosemary.

I think Rory definitely works as a nickname for Rosemary. GL

I like both names but I don’t really think it makes sense to name her Rosemary and call her something completely different. Aurora works as a fn for nn Rory imo.

I think that is a great idea. I like rory a lot! This way she can defer to Rosemary later in life, if Rory doesn’t suit her as an adult :)

It works! My name is Rosemary and everybody calls me Romy since I was little, but I still love it! Now you give her a chance to choose the name (Rosemary or Rory) she thinks that compliments her personality best and I really like that. Good luck ;-)

Rosemary Kay is gorgeous. If you love it, I think Rory could definitely work as a nickname, although personally I much prefer Rosie, Romy or just Rosemary.

I could see Rory being a nickname for Rosemary, but it is vastly different style, but if that doesn’t bother you. I personally think Rory is a bit of a tongue twister.

Rosemary is very feminine and Rory is very masculine. I’m not sure other people will join your enthusiasm for the nickname.
