I do like the spelling Joni, but I’m afraid people would pronounce it Joan--ie. Should I use that spelling anyway, or spell it like Jonni?

Johnni or Johnnie will definitely get pronounced as Johnny. Joni will get pronounced Joanie. I’m not sure how Jonni will get pronounced. It reads as Johnny but it’s so visually similar to Joni that people may still say Joanie.

Add an e to it. Jonnie. Not my favorite for a girl. I had a student named Johna. It was a nice, unusual name. Easily pronounced.

I would Joni as Jo-nee not Jah-nee. I would spell it Johnnie. That’s how I would assume it were spelt for a girl. I don’t like the name at all though.
