It isn’t a name. It is another word for the spring equinox. It is also identified as a special day for wiccans. Not a name.

I guess it could work if you’re pagan. If not, lots of people are going to assume that you are.
It’s not really any different than naming a kid Noel or Noelle imo. It could make an okay name.

Seems a little too sci-fi for some reason. How about Estera? It’s the Polish form of Esther pronounced es-TEH-ruh...almost es-tay-ruh, but not quite.

Estera seems like an alternative form of Estella.
Anyway all, I am not religious in any form. I just found this and was surprised I hadn’t heard of it before. I believe it sounds pretty, but I wouldn’t use it. I like names like Bethany, Rosemary, Suzanna

Ostara is the name of a Goddess as well as a Wiccan/Pagan holiday. You should probably look up some of the legends if you’re going to use this name.
Though it does have a cute sound.

It kind of sounds too much like osteoporosis to me...I think poster 4’s suggestion of Estera sounds a lot prettier.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. It’s a goddess name and lots of them are in use. But it would probably need to be spelled out a lot.
