Shai vs. Noa vs. Hazel

We are ideally looking for a girl Hebrew name that works in both America and Israel since she has family in both places. We also both like Hazel a lot but it is not Hebrew. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!

All 3 names are really pretty, I chose Hazel b/c it’s always been a favorite. Noa (this spelling is pretty) and Shai are pretty as well, tough choice.

By Noa do you mean Noah? don’t use a boy’s name on a girl, especially if it’ misspelled.

No. By Noa, she means Noa. The actual GIRL’S female name.

I meant Hebrew, not female. Otherwise, that would be really redundant.

FYI, if you don’t know about Hebrew names, don’t comment saying they are misspelled. Eliana is one of my favorite Hebrew names.

How do you pronounce Shai?

Eliana, Maia, Shira, Tamar, Yael, and Talia are all gorgeous girls names that work well in Israel and the US.

I like Noa as well

In Jewish and more culturally-aware circles, Noa is a beautiful and wonderful girl’s name. However, some in the US may mistake it for the very popular boy’s name Noah

I grew up in a jewish community. never heard of the name Noa. and even if it is a girl’s name in hebrew, no one will realize that and will think you just gave her a boy’s name.

Noa is the most popular girls name in Israel.

I adore Noa and never once thought of it as a "boy’s name." It’s stunning and culturally rich. Shai is my second choice. Hazel is last because I think it’s getting rather trendy as of late and I would stray away from that.
