elowen vs. octavia vs. help
I am in love with the name elowen for our baby girl with several possible nicknames such as elle, ellie, ella, wendy, etc.Prior to coming across elowen my husband and i had agreed on octavia. Although i like octavia i think i like elowen better. Is it a safe compromise to do elowen octavia with the last name beginning with b?

I like Octavia better. Elowen sounds too made-up and will get butchered constantly. I tried to type it in the first time and spellcheck changed it to Clown. But, in all reality, she’ll have to spell and pronounce Elowen all the time for people. It also looks masculine with the "owen" on the end.

I think it’s lovely. Elowen is really high on my list. Unfortunately a lot of people who are familiar with Welsh/Cornish names might think it looks a bit made up. But I think it’s a really pretty and feminine name that could work on both a child and an adult. I Like The Nicknames Lo and Wennie as well.
