Nevaeh vs. Yes vs. No

So most of you will be aware of this name - it spells Heaven when read backwards. I’m not trying to follow a trend I genuinely like the way it sounds and how it looks but worry about others opinions. I have a son named after an angel (Gabriel Ondrej) so thought it would be a kind of theme

My friend has a daughter named Nevaeh. I like it, but I have heard people say that it looks made up which makes me sad.

I know it’s Heaven spelled backwards and that a lot of people don’t like it for that reason; they think it’s tacky. But, to be honest, I have to agree with you: I love the way Nevaeh sounds. I’m with you on this one! :-)

I personally dislike it, but I’ve definitely seen a lot worse. There are probably better names meaning heaven or angel, or something along those lines.

How about Nevena? It’s a Slavic name meaning "marigold." Or Nerea (ne-REH-uh), Basque for "mine?" Or maybe Nayara (Spanish)/Naiara (Basque?)

I think it is just modern but use it if you like it!!

I honestly hate this name. In my opinion, it’s one of the worst names out there. It’s VERY teen momish. One of the girls off the show "16 and Pregnant" even named her daughter it. I think the whole "heaven spelled backwards" thing is a bit ridiculous and is just used as an excuse to name a child something made up. If you want your children to have a theme with their names, why not just name her Heaven. It sounds a whole lot better than Nevaeh to me.

I’ve heard it pronounced at least 3 different ways and the reason for that is that its a WORD spelled backwards. It’s really not a good name. If you want an angel theme (and really, themes are NOT necessary when naming your children), how about something like Angela or Angelica?
