Honoring vs. Leslie

I have a bit of a tough situation. I want to honor the name Leslie, however, I hate the name. It is important for me to honor this person, but I can’t stand the names Les or Leslie. I don’t mind if the suggested names have little resemblance to the actual name, as long as there is some link, e.g. Essie. Thanks

Why don’t you just go with an L name.

Thank you for all the ideas! I was looking mostly for a girls name, but it is nice to know I could do the honoring in a boys name. I really like the idea of using an L name or the letters in Leslie. I quite like Holly, although we already have a family with this name. Thanks again.

Maybe garden names (given the meaning of Leslie)? Eden, Rosalie, Zahara, Carmen?
