Baby vs. Boy vs. Amare

I am set on this name, but I am curious to know what others think about this name. What kind of boy and man would you picture somebody with this name to be? It is pronounced A-mar-ree and the spelling is staying. Middle names are needed, preferably hipster style. Thanks!

I picture a black or middle eastern man. Strong and cool. I am also inclined to pronounce the name "AmaR" from reading it, so that’s something he will probably encounter. You may need to add an accent mark over the E.

I like the spelling, and I think it’s a nice name, if not my style. I also know how to pronounnce it Because of Amar’e Stoudemire the basketball player. I picture a cute, spunky little boy and an interesting, thoughtful, considerate man.

Race isn’t the kind of image I care about and is looking for. I’m talking about as far as personality goes. That’s all that matters.

I’d imagine it’d be spelled Amari.

I’m not a fan. It looks like A mare. Like a horse.
Maybe Adaire?

I understand not wanting to change the spelling, but I also agree that Amari would probably help others pronounce it. I don’t think you should change something for other people, but your son might appreciate it later. Just my little humble opinion!

In general, the name does not automatically make me think if a type of boy or man, which I think is good. It allows his personality to define him. :-)

Congrats !
