Like the magazine?

Are you trying to name him after grandpa or just Max?

Just Max really.

I like Maksim, just so it’s less like the trashy magazine. I would still spell the nn Max.

It’s a cool name in theory but...

Max is a nice name. I would just use that.

The others look misspelled, Maxim is the best but I wouldn’t do it. No matter how it’s spelled, it’s said the same and will be related to Maxim.

Maksim looks the most natural from it’s origin.

Maxim would probably be easiest in the US, most people are going to guess that spelling. However, it’s the name of a sleezy magazine.

I like Maksim, but it will be misspelled more often.

Macksim isn’t a legit spelling as far as I know, and is the most confusing of the three.

Are you planning on using a nickname? Max or Mack would work for either, but Max probably is more intuitive for Maxim and Mack for Maksim.

I’d go with Maxwell or Maximus (nn Max).
Or if you want to go with a nn Mack:
Mace
McGuire
McArthur
McGraw
something along those lines...
