If it’s pronounced the same way as Great Britain (United Kingdom), spell it Britain because that’s how it’ll get spelled 99% of the time anyway.

Don’t worry about what your family thinks. This is your baby, not theirs. It’s best not to tell anybody the baby’s name until the baby is born. Otherwise, their naming opinions will drive you nuts.
