Ruby is VERY common as a first name! I much prefer Rose as a first name over Ruby but if you are only open to using it as a middle name than I’d use Rose and find a different, less common first name. Best wishes!

I love the name Ruby. I would avoid a middle name that starts with R though.

Ruby isn’t my favorite, but you could do a lot worse. It fits into the old-but-new trend that is extremely popular for girls right now (Evelyn, Violet, Hazel, etc.), but I have never met a little Ruby.

It’s cute. I don’t currently know anyone named Ruby. But I see it on the polls a LOT. I might worry that it’s popularity is about to explode.

If you know you love Rose and you aren’t sure that you love Ruby than use Rose as the middle name and find a different first name that you know you love. Or use Rosa as the first name. You definitely want to make sure thtpat you love the name that you give to your child as they will have it forever. I have always loved the name Sarah but chose to name my daughter Delaney Elise instead and I regret it so much because I love Sarah so much more than I do Delaney. So just make sure you are using a name that you know you love instead of a name that you just like.

I don’t really think Ruby is being used that much. I think it’s adorable (but will also work on a grown woman). I love Ruby Charlotte, Ruby Clara, Ruby Josephine and Ruby Sarah.
