Ways To vs. Honour Stephanie?

Hello! DH and I are expecting our first child together, and it’s a little girl! We’d really like to honour both our mothers in her name. We will be using Jane in honour of my mother, but are a bit stuck with his. Her name is Stephanie Mary, but we don’t want to use either of those. So far I’ve come up with Molly, Kayla and Atara (the last 2 have the same meaning as Stephanie), however DH doesn’t really like any of them. All suggestions are welcome!

Melanie?? Has the same ending

For girls, he likes: Helen, Ruby, Alice, Ivy, Claire, Freya, Catherine and Jane (got that one covered).
I think Kayla and Atara are too out there for him. Molly does fit, and it’s the one he’s most ok with, but ’ee’ endings don’t actually flow that well with our last name. Unfortunately none of those names help us honour his mother.

I hope that helps.

Thank you for the suggestion of Melanie, I hadn’t considered it at all! Unfortunately I just asked DH and he said he doesn’t like it...

Neither of us particularly like Stephanie or it’s variants, so thank you for your suggestion but we’d rather stay away from Stephanie/Stefania etc.
The only one we sort of like is Etienne, but that’s the masculine not the feminine.

I adore the names Bethany and Felicity, unfortunately we are trying to stay away from ’ee’ sounds and the end of names because they don’t flow well with our last name. I also happen to know from earlier discussions that DH doesn’t like them - he doesn’t like any of my favourites!

If you stray too far from the name you want to honor, it really defeats that purpose.

Sorry I didn’t see the trying to avoid the -ee sound when I posted my post! So here are some others:

Daphne, Kayleigh, Laura, Lauren, Regina, Dorathy and Maelea all have a similar meaning- I know some still have the -ee sound however I thought I would post them anyway :)

I’m not sure how some of these names honour Stephanie? Although I do like a fair few!
I am tempted to go down the ’Annie’ route, partially because I love the nickname. Sadly, DH (and me to an extent) aren’t a massive fan of the full names.
I love Annabeth, DH does not.

Or maybe just Annie on its own? I thinks it’s lovely by itself!

Jane Marie? Stella Jane? Jane Sophia?

How about Maren - for her middle name, Mary?
Maren Jane or Jane Maren could be quit nice! (Could also do Marion, Marielle, even Meredith.) For Stephanie, you could do Stella (same beginning) or Stacia or Hana (sort of a part of Stephanie)
