Zoey’s spelling is grammatically incorrect.

I prefer the spelling of Zoey over Zoe. But Kelsey Ruth flows so much better than Zoey Ruth. I don’t like Kinsley at all.

Zoey is the best name, but it doesn’t need the -y at the end. In fact, it kind of cheapens a really great name. Kinsley and Kelsey are going to be names (along with Kinley, Kylie, Kayla, Kinzee, Kaylee) that sound so trendy in about 5-10 years.

How nice is it to see Ruth being considered? Love it.

Zoë / Zoe Ruth would get my vote. I don’t understand the need for the "y." We don’t do that to Chloë / Chloe, Hermione, Daphne, etc. The "ee" sound on the end is understood with Greek names. Plus, Zoey reminds me of Joey.

Kinsley and Kelsey are too trendy for me. Good luck! :0)

Briony Ruth!

I liked the spelling Zoe better as well, but for this name to win out I had to compromise and remain open to the addition of the y because my husband doesn’t like it without the y. He thinks people won’t pronounce it correctly. I kind of hate the way it looks with a y. This may be the reason we don’t go with Zoe at all. Thanks for the comments!

Can you show your husband these comments? It might help him see that the "y" is a negative. But yes, if he doesn’t change his mind it’s better to scrap the name altogether.

Kelsey will be the one to age best. Zoey/Zoe and Kinsley are childish and cutesy and won’t look good on a teenager, young adult or a grown woman. Kelsey is not trendy because it doesn’t end in -lyn/-lynn/-lee/-lie. Would you consider Chelsey/Chelsea Ruth?

I love the suggestion of Briony Ruth, although I would spell it Bryony since that’s how the flower is spelled. And if you’ve any Brians in the framily it could (sort of ) honor them.

A similar name is Briallen. It’s a Welsh girl’s name, meaning "primrose." Briallen Ruth? Just a thought.

Honestly it’s taken us so long to narrow it down, it’s probably between these 3. Shelby and Molly were other ones we eliminated. We’re down to the wire.

Ooh, I adore Shelby Ruth!!! Too cute and it’s a name you don’t hear often at all!
I’m biased I have a Shelby of my own and she’s the only one in her school.
