Need middle vs. names for vs. Larke.
My 5th daughter will be named Larke, but we need a middle name for her. Her sisters are Ainsley Olivia, Cagney Belle, Jemma Alison, and Marin Jessica. Thank you for your help. ~Rebecca
The Top Baby Name is...
If you would have read my entire post, you’d see that Olivia is already the middle name of my oldest daughter, Ainsley. ~Rebecca
Larke Sophia, Larke Celeste, Larke Corrine, Larke Melyn (Mah-linn), Larke Brielle
I like Monica Larke (still call her Larke, but I think it flows better that way)
I also like Larke Marie!
Wow Rebecca, no need to be snarky.
I don’t call any of my other daughters by their middle name, so clearly Monica Larke wouldn’t work, seeing as I’d like her name to be Larke. ~Rebecca
Oh, I’m sorry.
I just have Larke on my list also and Olivia is one of the middle names I’ve considered for it, so that combo comes mind rather quickly.
Unclear why you’re asking for input here when you’re so rude about the suggestions that have been offered. Also unclear how you can possibly have patience for 5 children...
It is not too much to ask that a person read everything I wrote before giving suggestions. It’s not a difficult thing. ~Rebecca
Just because you don’t call your other children by their middle name doesn’t mean you can’t do it for this one. I am called by my middle name and my two sisters are called by their first! I just made a suggestion, which clearly you don’t want!
Do you like any of the suggestions so far (besides the Olivia and Monica ones)? Just wanted to figure out the style of names you like.
I’m asking for MIDDLE NAME suggestions for LARKE. Turning Larke into a middle name is not what I’m asking for, and I’m clearly not going to give two of my children the same middle name. If people actually did that, there would be absolutely no problem. Notice I had nothing against all of Ariel’s other name suggestions. Keep Larke as the first name and don’t use Ainsley, Olivia, Cagney, Belle, Jemma, Alison, Marin or Jessica and everything will be fine. ~Rebecca
I really hope its just the pregnancy hormones making you so rude, I would feel sorry for your children (and others in your life) if you are always this mean when a people are offering you advice that you asked for.
You really don’t have to comment on suggestions that you don’t like, you can simply skip those and look at the ones you do like!
As for my style, since Larke isn’t too common, a relatively common middle name would be nice. And to me, if you’re going to call someone by their middle name, it might as well be your first name. It makes absolutely no sense to call someone by their middle name. ~Rebecca
I actually skimmed your post, I just prefer actually suggesting names then reading them. I suppose it didn’t register that your daughter’s middle name was Olivia. To be honest, I thought your daughter’s had very nice names, and that Larke Olivia would be equally lovely.
However, you really don’t have to be so rude. You stated that it wasn’t to much to ask for someone to read your whole post. Is it too much to ask people to be friendly and nice on this site?
However, back to the topic of this poll. Have any middle names stood out for you?
Getting back to baby names...which of the other suggestions do you like?
But that’s the thing, poster 14. They weren’t giving me what I asked for. ~Rebecca
Larke Alexis is really pretty.
My name is Elisa Paige and I go by Paige, I am thankful that it turned out that way, I think it flows better Elisa Paige and since Elisa is my mothers name, I am glad to be called Paige. My great grandmother was called by her middle name as well as my grandmother and my father. Just because it isn’t your taste, you shouldn’t be so quick to judge others.
I like Larke Anna. ~Rebecca
Larke Anna is nice, but I think that Larke Anneliese or Larke Annabelle flows better. What do you think?
Well your trend so far seems to be pairing current names with 1980s names, so maybe:
I also like Larke Anna and Larke Annabelle!
You should go with one of those!!
Larke Anna is pretty. But it doesnt flow well. Larke AnnMarie
Larke Anna and Larke Annabelle. I think I like Larke Anna better.
Or just Larke Anne or Larke Eve or Larke Taylor
Belle is one of her daughters mns so Annabelle wouldnt work.
For fear of getting my head bitten off since you didn’t ask for first name suggestions, have you by chance considered the first name Larkin? Just asking since all of your other kids have 2-syllable first names, and you might have an easier time finding middle names that flow (and you could still call her Lark/Larke as a nn).
Just a thought, ignore at will.
Larkin/Larken is really pretty! Larke could be used as a nn...what do you think, Rebecca?
I too like Larkin, Larkin Marie or Larkin Beth would be gorgeous names!
Larken Elise is pretty too.
Larkin Rebecca *after her lovely mother...
Bella Lark would be pretty
Larken Alexis is also REALLY pretty. I think that’s my favorite. What do you think?
For the last time...I hope...Larke will be her first name. My favorite is still Larke Anna. ~Rebecca
Go with Larke Anna.
I don’t like Larke Anna, I don’t think it sounds very pretty. Even though I love the name Anna.
If she takes after mommy dearest, her nickname will be easy enough.. Larke the Snark!
What about Larke Rebecca? or Larke Ann? or Larke Ashley
I think the intention of this poll is being clouded by people trying to prove their point and wanting to be right. Rebecca’s baby is more important than any of that. SHE"S BRINGING A PRECIOUS BABY INTO THE WORLD! Let’s forget all the defensive, unkind comments...life is way too short to treat people that way. Sorry for the sermon, but all this had gotten out of hand.
Larke Anna is pretty, so is Larke Elise.
You just created more fighting, as am I.
I don’t really like Larke in the first place, I always think of a bog and some frog lurking in the bullrush. That’s just me.
I LOVE LARKE ELISE
I don’t like Larke either. Doesn’t sound very pretty what about Felicity or Freya.
She wants middle names to go with Larke...she’s obviously set on that name. Adding new first names is just throwing fuel onto the fire. Just give her what she’s asking for!
Larke is a nice, uncommon, pretty name.
You can not like Larke as much as you want, I personally don’t care. Larke Elise is pretty too, but I’m really hooked on Larke Anna. And all the immature comments-especially the one from poster 42-make me laugh. Thank you very much! :) ~Rebecca
I think Matilda is very pretty (Mar-see-uh) :)
I agree I hate Larke, sorry
Larke Anna is a great name and will compliment the names of your other children beautifully! Good luck!
I think I’m going to help other people then waste time on your poll.
Matilda is NOT pronounced Mar-see-uh, if that’s what you’re suggesting.
I like Larke but It doesnt flow with Anna..
Larke Noelle? Larke Ann
So between Larke Elise and Larke Anna, which one? ~Rebecca
Your snark is really getting to me too. Good Luck w/ Larke, I suppose
Rebecca, just overlook all these comments and criticisms, and focus on the arrival of your beautiful, perfect little girl. There’s nothing better, and nothing should be allowed to overshadow that! God bless!
Larke the Dark :)
^Oh don’t worry, I am. :) ~Rebecca
What about Larke Ella, Larke Bailey, or Larke Amelia?
Do you like any of these?
Larke Elise!! Larke Anna doesnt flow sorry!
Definately like Larke Elise between Larke Elise and Lark Anna but I like Larke Ella too
I really like both. Elise means "God’s promise" and Anna means "Grace, charm." I’d go with whichever meaning you like beter!
Seriously, the more immature comments you post, the more amused I get. It’s actually pretty entertaining. So if you guys think you’re being "hurtful", you’re not. You’re just acting like fools. :) ~Rebecca
We want you to laugh :) You deserve it the most.
I like both Larke Anna and Larke Elise, but I would make sure that each set of initials (with your last name) don’t spell something or look funny. Maybe that would help you make your decision.
Larke the Dark doesn’t make sense?
I actually like Larke Ella too.
I think you will get the award for most comments! People are so petty!!
I think Larke Elise or Larke Elisa, both pretty!
Alright, as long as you know I’m not laughing with you, but at you, fine with me. :)
Larke Ella...hm. I don’t know. Maybe. ~Rebecca
I like Larke Elise better than Larke Ella.
Larke Alicia flows well, I think.
You are truly amazing women. Good Luck, w/ Larke and all her wonderful nicknames.
Have you considered Larke Eleanor. Eleanor gives a traditional and sophisticated side to a playful, modern name.
I like Eleanor as a middle name, but it is kind of a mouthfull, I would stick with a shorter middle name
I just have an unrelated question- I really like the name Gemma (Jemma). What kind of reception does that name tend to get? I know it’s my choice, but my mom thought I meant Emma, and said she’d have to think about it when I corrected her. She’s never heard it before. Just wanted to see if I’d have to explain it to everyone. Thanks for your help.
Gemma is really popular in England. I personally don’t care for it because it is bound to be mistaken for Emma...again, and Jenna, and GERM. Larke Anna sounds funny. What about Larke Priscilla?
Make your own poll if you want suggestions on a name.
Priscilla is possibly the ugliest name on earth. ~Rebecca
My question was actually directed to Rebecca, who has a child named Jemma. Sorry I didn’t make that clear. Anyone else with a child with that name would probably have good imput also. Otherwise, I’m not sure you’re comment helps. I do like Larke by the way. Not sure about what middle name I like best.
Rebecca is the UGLIEST name ever! How does that make you feel? That is my real opinion. There is a nice way to tell someone you don’t like a name. Get over yourself.
I love the name Rebecca but seriously you have got some anger issues women, asking for advise and then not appreciating it. Go fall in hole.
BTW Larke is quite possibly the worst name ever, Priscilla is very nice, you have terrible taste
Ugly person, at any rate. Although my hunch is that this poll was posted by a bored teenager. Because God help her kids if she’s really a mother.
Priscilla is a lovely name. I would know this. I’ve been a naming professional for I don’t know, 10 years now? Gosh woman, take a chill pill. Larke is one of the strangest names I’ve come across in my career, and I agree, your taste in names is horrible. When people create a poll, they are asking for all honest opinions, feedback and suggestions. Would you rather us just ignore your cry for help? You certainly have a reason to, by the way. And that’s what Baby Name Genie users do, ignore FAKE polls! Some fake polls aren’t that obvious. This is probably one of them.
...HAHAHAHA. A naming professional? Well there’s something to be proud of. And FYI, just because you personally like the name Priscilla doesn’t mean it’s one of the greatest names in the world. Some people think it’s ugly, like myself. You can think that I have horrible taste all you want, but it’s not fact. Just like I can and do think you have horrible taste because you like Priscilla. It’s not fact, but it’s what I think.
Let me get a few things straight. When I made this poll, I was asking for middle names for Larke. I don’t care whether you love that name or hate it. That doesn’t influence whether I choose that name or not one bit. If you don’t like the name, don’t comment. It’s that simple. I was NOT asking for opinions on Larke, I was NOT asking for feedback. I was asking for MIDDLE NAME SUGGESTIONS, something most of you can’t seem to get through your head.
Regarding the woman who wanted to know how Jemma is accepted in the U.S., she’s only 4, and the kids in her pre-school class don’t know it’s "unusual" or whatever you want to call it. I say if you like the name, use it.
To the person who says they hate the name Rebecca...good for you? I didn’t give myself this name, so it’s not like you’re insulting me. It’s not a name I particularly care for either. So I guess all there is to say is thanks for sharing?
If calling me a bad mother or saying that I’m ugly or insulting me makes you feel better, then more power to you. Insult away. But all you’re doing for me is providing amusement.
And one more thing. To the person who said go fall in a hole, no thank you. :) ~Rebecca
Um Rebecca? Did you decide on a mn for Larke yet...I personaly like the name
I keep going back and forth between Larke Anna and Larke Elise. ~Rebecca
Rebecca: You are so rude and rather annoying women that needs to learn some etiquette.
Listen!! if you have NOTHING nice to say then DONT say it at all! even a 2 year old knows that!! you guys are being WAY TOO immature! All she asked is to have a middle name!! SO WHAT if she likes the name Larke!! have you been listening what celebrities have been naming their children?
Prince Michael II
Diva Thin Muffin
these names are outrageous!!
why dont you make fun of them?? HUH?
you probably like it because you think their parents are TOTALLY COOL! but when a person whos NOT famous and she asks help for a middle name and for the first name is Larke you do what?! you insult her make fun of and every thing!!!
TO REBBECA I THINK YOU SHOULD PUT LARKS LAST NAME IN BECAUSE IT WOULD BE A LOT MORE HELPFUL TO THE PEOPLE TRYING TO HELP YOU.I HOPE YOU WILL TAKE MY ADVICE
Larke Anna was born last week. I love the name, and thank you to whoever originally suggested Anna. :) ~Rebecca
Congratulations on the birth of your little one.Just a quick question, how do people respond to Cagney Belles’s name? that is an incredibly unusual first name. I have not heard of Cagney as a first name before.
Even though this is an old post, I am amazed at how rude this Rebecca was and despite that everyone still kept trying to help her. If it was me, I would have said "Screw it. Find your own name." That nasty attitude was unnecessary. And I love how she attempted to cast the blame on everyone else, calling their comments immature and all the while making smart-aleck remarks. LOL I hope her children don’t take after her, and I certainly feel sorry for her husband!
Dude. I just got 10 minutes of entertainment from reading this post, and I am also quite saddened by the immaturity, disrespect, and rudeness. I am happy for you, certainly, Rebecca in your daughter’s birth; though I suspect this post was completely fake and created by a teenager. The low life of the poster and the commenters. I’m ashamed at this point.
My name is Larke. I have loved it my entire life. When I was poked fun at.. the worst it for was "hark a lark flying in the park"... Which was no big deal. Not that you would still be looking for a name two years later...but my middle name is Essex...Which is a family name. Glad you stuck to your guns Rebecca bc I have enjoyed my name for the last 35 years and will continue for the next 35 years. Xoxo
I can’t believe I met another Larke! Wow! My mother would be so mad, she wanted my name to be the only one in the world. My mother insisted on Larke, (my dad picked Ellise, but he settled for a middle name), and I love it. It’s just a bit more feminine than Lark already is. My mother used to always call me – “My Lovely Larke”. It’s quite funny, because I loved to sing and I still do. My husband and I are expecting a girl in October. What do you all think about the name Leanora? (My grandmother (Eleanora), who I was very close to, died last year, so I wanted to pay homage to her. I’m also open to suggestions for middle names.
