Thoughts vs. on vs. Teagan?
Last year Teagan was ranked on the SSA list as #408 for girls and #677 for boys, however, the increase in the rankings in the past several years has been more rapid on the boys side than on the girls. We want a good masculine name for our son w/o having him confused for a girl. (Poor thing is doomed to be fair skinned, freckled and red-headed!) I really like Teagan for a boy. Thoughts, please. Thanks.

I also prefer Teagan for a boy and if I see it on a girl I don’t like it...same with Peyton, it is definitely a boys name but its more popular for girls for some odd reason. I just don’t see a woman named Peyton or Teagan. Well anyways I like the above suggestion of Teagan Joseph...just give him a strong classic middle name and you should be good. If he doesn’t like it he could always go by Joseph.

I can’t imagine a girl with this name. It’s very lovely. Are you Irish? What do you like as middle names go?

I don’t think he will run across another Teagan boy or girl if the statistics don’t jump dramatically. I kind of like Tegan spelling a little better but I would pronounce it Tee-gun. Is it pronounced Tay-gun spelled Teagan? Tee-gun sounds more masculine to me. It sounds more masculine to me than Logan which is also being used for girls. I think you should go with it. It would be cute to name him Teagan or Tegan Joseph with the nick name T.J.

but I’m open to ideas.....Thanks!

I really would NOT use Teagan for a boy, especially if you want him to have a good strong masculine name. It’s being used too much for girls. I love the name, but not for a boy.

Yeah I personally think it makes a difference because then it doesnt rhyme with Meagan and Reagan which are more girly names. I don’t understand why its not spelled Tegan or Teegan though. I think it would look more masculine.

i really like it for a boy or a girl especially with this spelling, if you said to me "i have a kid called Teagan" i’d say well i really like that name, have you got a boy or a girl? but some people might assume one or the other and that’s something you might have to be prepared for, and at least it’s not in the top 200 which means he’s not likely to come across many people with the same name, i like the combo of Teagan Patrick, and i wouldn’t pronounce it any other way tbh

Oh, I like Teagan Hughes! That’s so different. I’m actually considering Hayes for my son.
Teagan Russell
Teagan Blaine
Teagan Brody
Teagan Cadmar
Teagan Cavanaugh
Teagan Dermot
Teagan Farris
Teagan Phineas
Teagan Grady
Teagan Maccrea
Teagan Merritt
Teagan Monroe
Teagan Oisin (Doesn’t go but it’s my favorite Irish name)
Teagan Pierce
Teagan Roarke
You could also just do Teague. It’s hard because my favorite Irish names mostly end in N.

What are your daughters names? That’ll let us know if you’re willing to go REALLY Irish or not.
I like both Teague and Teagan for boys only. Educated people will know that Teagan is a boy. Especially if they’re introduced and know the girls names and know that they are Irish.

McKenna, Tierney and Lorelei. Lorelei is actually of German origin (which we also are) but we thought it flowed well with the other girls’ names.
So now I’m having to decide...
McKenna, Tierney, Lorelei & Teagan
McKenna, Tierney, Lorelei & Dylan (see other poll)
...or something else all together! UGH! It’s so hard to name a baby! :)

My son’s name is Teegan Oxley. I love it, and wouldn’t imagine this name on a girl... We chose a very manly name for his middle name since Teagan is a unisex name. We chose to spell it Teegan, we think it looks more boyish than Teagan.
