What are vs. thought on vs. these names
So we really like unique names. We are expecting a baby girl in about a month, and we don’t have a name for her. We like Bindi, Lux, and August. But I feel some people will judge her, and us for giving her a name like that. What do you think?

Instead of August, how about Augusta? Gusty would be a cool nickname.

Not a fan of Bindi. Its too tied to one celebrity. Lux makes me think of a stripper (sorry) and August is too much of a boys name.

Bindi is sort of cultural appropriation if you ask me. I think August is too masculine.
Lux is interesting. It’s certainly unique, but I do like Paz better, as a previous commenter suggested. But Lux is nice, as well.

Nicknames are your friends. My two cents: Call her Flugelhorn if you like, as long as she has Florence or Melody or somesuch to fall back on if she wants it.
So for your favs, how about:
Bindi: Abilene, Bethany, Bienvenida, Briallen, Sabine, Bridget / Brigid, Sabrina, Bernadette, Benedetta, Robin, Bevin, etc.
Lux (which can stand on its own just fine): Lucy / Lucia / Luciana / Lucinda / Lucille / Lucine, Lucienne ("loo-see-EN"), Lucasta, Louisa, etc.
August: Augusta / Augustine / Augustina, Maxine (= great), Morrigan (= great queen), etc.
So for your favs, how about:
