Shane Taylor vs. Something Else

I just want to know what other people think of this: my husband and I are expecting a boy in mid August and I wanted Evan to pick his name. He’s picked Shane Taylor. I like Shane, but I’m unsure about Taylor since that’s my name. Would it be strange for a son to be named after his mom (with the name being "gender neutral" in all)? ~Taylor

I mean it’s not a horrible name but I don’t know I personally wouldn’t throw my son into people looking at the name and always wondering if it’s a boy or a girl.

I don’t think people would always be wondering it he’s a boy or a girl. Shane is fairly obviously masculine in my opinion.
I think it’s great that he’d be named after you! It’s really common for both boys and girls to be given names which honour their father, why not got for it?

Love Shane.....I wouldn’t use Taylor, though. Shane Tyler is nice.

Shane is definitely a boy’s name, and I love that your son will be named after his mother! Shane Taylor is clearly a boy.
