If I were you I’d keep looking. But if you really love it who am I to tell you not to name your child that. I don’t like it just because Oliver and Bear both end in r and that doesn’t flow well. I saw your other poll, what about Jacob Bear?

Just don’t name him Yogi or Pooh and you should be okay. LOL! Native Americans have used names like Bear, Fox, Eagle, Blue Bird and other wildlife & nature names forever. If you like it, use it!!

I voted for Bear Alexander in your last poll. I still don’t think Oliver Bear flows well. But they are both great names and if your husband loves it, and you do too, then you should use it.

My husband loved Bear Alexander, I’m just a little worried about using it as a first name. To the third post, love the sound of Ollie Bear, that is adorable. Again thank you all for your feedback.

Poster 3 again, I don’t really see a problem with Bear at all whether first or middle name. I really like Bear Alexander & Oliver Bear.
I’m from the South and there is a boy in 8th grade, my daughters’ grade, with this name. His full name is Bear Everett S. Everyone just loves his name; its unique w/out being too out there.

Thanks to the 9th and 10th post, it’s nice to hear positive feedback. I love unique names. My daughter has a unique name and my family gave me hell when they found out the name, she’s now 7 and everyone in her school loves her name.

Bear is just his middle name. It’s not like he’ll go by Bear. Bear gives spunk to Oliver which I like.

Bear is too "out there" for me personally.I wouldn’t be brave enough to use something like that.
