Um... i really don’t want to worry you, but my sister’s daughter Lina (Evangelina), used to do that when she was that young. She’s now 15, but we later found out, when she was about 6 that she had a very very very mild form of Asperger Syndrome (AS) which is a form of autism. mind you, it’s very mild and now she is still shy, but not anymore so then the next person. you can’t even tell. she lives a normal life!

Quit treating her like a baby and she will be fine...your sending her the message that you want her to act like that by babying her. I bet it secretly makes you feel good that she does this. This is not the place for real advice or therapy you need to chill just let the kid adjust naturally.

My mother was in the same situation a few years ago. In the beginning of 5th grade, I was extremely shy so my mom put me in a Circle of Friends group at my school. Elementary and Intermediate schools have similar programs. Get information about one that may be in your community church or something. Don’t stress too much. Maybe you are over-reacting because she probably hasn’t been around very many kids, being the summer and all. Send her off to school with a smile and she’ll just know what to do. I’ll admit that on my first day of high school two weeks ago I was in tears because I thought that I wouldn’t socialize. All you can do is support your daughter and hope that she will solve this "problem" on her own. Good luck! :)

U guys give good advice and i no this isnt a place where i should ask this type of stuff but it is about kids and babies and i would have gone to Yahoo answers or something but i dont got an Account and i dont really wanna make one.
