Caspar yes vs. Caspar no

Hi everyone! We wanted an outside opinion on the name Caspar for our son. Do you think it is usable and so you like it? We don’t like other similar names like Jasper, or the spelling Casper (like the friendly ghost). So do you think that Caspar works and do you like the name? Thanks in advance!

It’ll get spelled Casper 99.99% of the time. Lots of people might associate it with the ghost or with the city in Wyoming (if you live in the western U.S.). If it weren’t for the ghost, I’d say the name is ok. If you’re set on using it, at least spell it properly so he’s not constantly correcting people.

I like it. Casper the ghost is a consideration, but I don’t think it’s a huge deal. Few kids today are all that familiar with that cartoon. As for spelling, I think it’s spelled about 50/50 Caspar as opposed to Casper. Either way is correct. I think I prefer Caspar too. If you prefer Caspar, that’s the way I’d spell it.

I think it’s fine but not personally a favorite...I would spell it Casper or change the name to one that normally ends with ar

I think Caspar is fine. There is a famous YouTuber named Caspar Lee so the spelling isn’t weird, just less common.

I think Caspar is really cute. While some people may originally spell it Casper, I don’t think it’d be too much of an issue. I prefer Caspar to Casper.
