That’s highly personal. If you and the father are both ok with using it, then go ahead. But also consider others’ reactions. Was it widely known that your first son would have been named Oakley, or was it just what you were planning on? If a lot of people knew, then probably at least some of them won’t like it if you reuse the name. (though that doesn’t mean you can’t, just that you should be prepared for some criticism) I think what people want is to be reassured that each one is an individual, that the first one mattered too and that your current child doesn’t feel burdened by the sad association.
