Ronan William vs. Yes vs. No

As well as asking whether you like the name I have chosen for the beautiful baby boy I delivered, I needed to ask whether you think my kids very Irish names will work in America? I have three beautiful princesses Saoirse Lyn, Aoife Belle and Eithne Rose as well as a son Ruaridh James. We currently live in Ireland but are moving to America in three months. I had Killian on my shortlist with Ruaridh because I liked Killian James but I’m not sure Killian William is as nice! So, I’ve settled on Ronan... I think?

I think as long as the children become used to giving people pronunciation and spelling, it will be fine. Americans seem to be somewhat open to Irish names. And they may be given "American" nicknames, unless they are very firm about wishing to be called by their full/real names.

I love Ronan! It would be on my list if I didn’t already have a son named Rory. Love the original spelling Ruaridh but I think it would be difficult here. I do think the kids will have trouble with pronunciation. There’s a girl who goes to the school I teach at names Niamh and her name is butchered every time the office calls her down. I LOVE your kids’ names!
