I don’t think it stands alone well for either gender. It’s great as a nickname for Christopher or Katherine but it doesn’t go well as a full name.

could be a nickname for Kristen or Kirsten or Katherine for a girl. and Christopher for a boy

I knew an awesome girl named Kit growing up. It’s fine on its own. I don’t think it’s that much different from Kate, which is often used alone.

Thank you all for your response. We are having a girl. I don’t like names like Katherine or Kristina. Not that they are bad names just bland and don’t say much because they are so common, so what’s the point of them, I never knew. Especially when they are shortened 75 percent of the time.
We have a Brooks Christopher who is 6 and Liv Alexanderia who is 2. Think Kitt would fit in well with Brooks and Liv.

Almost any name that starts with K could be used as a full name for Kit.
