English First Name vs. Swedish First Name? vs. Itialian First Name
My husband and I are adopting a child from a wonderful couple when he/she is born, we won’t know the gender until the birth in about 2 months. The birth mother is Italian and the birth father is Swedish and we wanted to honor those cultures somehow in the baby’s name. We live in the UK. We were discussing naming earlier this week and we can’t decide if we want to use an English first name, a Swedish first name, or an Italian first name. The baby will have two middle names so the name combos will probably be English/Italian/Swedish, Swedish/Italian/English, Italian/Swedish/English, or something like that. Our surname is Lester. Which do you think we should do? We could also use some ideas on names. We have some English names on our lists but not very many Italian or Swedish names. All ideas and thoughts are welcome! If you suggest, please suggest Italian, English, and Swedish names for both boys and girls. Sorry if this is long. ~Louise and Jack

Swedish names:

I tried to choose ones that were more identifiable, since there are plenty that are cross-cultural, too. Good luck! :)

For Swedish, I like Erik, Mirjam (said like Miriam), Kristin, Karin, and Erika (some of these may actually be Norwegian instead- you might want to check).
For Italian, I like Rosalia, Mariana, Antonio, Matteo.
I don’t know which English names are UK vs US, but it sounds like you have an idea of those anyway.
