We need feedback vs. on our girls names!

We are expecting twin girls in March and we have chosen the names Amelia Rose and Caroline Paige their nicknames will be Amie and Carlie. We also have an 11 month old daughter named Adelaide Charlotte nn Addie. Is it strange to have one of our twins and our eldest daughter have a name that starts with the same letter? They will be very close in age and family members have said that as they get older, Adelaide and Amelia may be confused as being twins rather than Amelia and Caroline because they start with the same letter. What do you think, should we scratch the name Amelia and give her another initial? Thanks for your help!

I would keep Amelia. I think Adelaide, Amelia and Caroline flow beautifully together! I wouldn’t worry about the twin confusion, I don’t think that will be an issue. GL

Because they are so close in age, I’d pick a different name. What about Melissa Rose with the nn Meli or Lissa?

Thank you poster 2! Melissa Rose is pretty too, we’ll consider it.

Amelia starts with A like Addie and I’ve heard Carlie used as a nickname for Charlotte so either way both babies have names similar to their sister. My issue is more the spelling of all of their nicknames. I prefer Addy, Amy, and Carly.

I think it is fine but if you are concerned how about:

Emilia - Emmie
Olivia - Livie
Elissa - Ellie or Lissy
Matilda - Mattie or Tilly
Penelope - Penny or Nellie
Meredith - Merie
Margaret - Maggie
Elizabeth - Ellie, Lizzie
Victoria - Torie or Vickie
Josephine - Josie
Bernadette - Bernie
Juliet - Julie
Georgina - Georgie
Francesca - Frankie
Rebecca - Becky
Gabrielle - Gabbie or Ellie
Vanessa - Nessie

Good luck!

I see your point. I do think there is a possibility of confusion. But that might happen anyway just because of the closeness in age. It’s ok to reconsider, but I think it’s also ok to keep. I’m not overly fond of Amelia but love Amy. Love Caroline and Carlie though I’ve never considered Carlie a nn for Caroline.

If you love the name then don’t worry about it. However, there is also the very similar Emilia. You could call her Emmy or Millie for short.

It’s probably fine, but if you’re worried I’d switch to the Emilia spelling

Keep it the same! Your name choices are beautiful!!

It’s not strange to have two of three names start with the same letter but I guarantee you will mix their names up down the road.

I think it’s being way overthought but if it bothers you just use the Emilia spelling.

Or even Camilla

If you like it, go with it. Amelia and Caroline sound great together. I do agree with the other posters that if you’re REALLY worried about it, use the Emilia spelling and call her Emmy. Best wishes!
