We like the spelling Cameron, but it’s masculine to us, and can only envision it on a boy. Thanks though!

I love the name Cameron, but only spelled the proper way.I’m sorry, but Kamryn makes it look ugly and trashy. Look at Cameron Diaz- she couldn’t be more beautiful and she has a lovely spelling of the name!

Spell it the way you want. She’s your baby! Kamryn is fine, Camryn is cute too!

Yes, I suppose if you really refuse to spell it Cameron, Camryn is much better than Kamryn.

I agree with the people who like Cameron better. If the name seems too masculine for a girl, then why not choose an actual feminine name instead of a masculine name spelled a trashy way? You wouldn’t name your child Krysstofer because Christopher looks masculine, right?

EXCELLENT, BRILLIANT point PP

How about Catherine (or even the dumbed-down version Kathryn). It’s only one sound off from Kamryn, and is most definitely a female name no matter how you spell it.

Catherine Faye would be a fabulous name. Totally classy and cute.

Oh, I love Catherine Faye or Catherine Paige!

well, I’m not asking for spelling advice, I’m just needing a middle name that sounds good. Thanks anyways at your attempts to help. i guess I’ll go back to Baby name genie’s middle name generator and click 1,000 times till I find the right one.

Camryn is better than Kamryn. And if you think about it, Camryn is not the same as Cameron...technically they should be pronounced differently. Camryn is pronounced "Cam-rin," while Cameron should be pronounced "Cam-er-uhn." It’s just our lazy way of speaking that makes Cameron sound like "Cam-rin."

catherine is terribly over used and is dated

good idea

Catherine is classic -- you’ll find literature from hundreds of years ago with this name, and in hundreds of years people will still be naming their children Catherine. Kamryn, however, especially with that bogus spelling, is trendy and short-lived. It’ll be like having a label that reads "I was born between 1998 and 2010 to blue-collar parents." :-/

EVERY name is short lived. Jessica is a total 80’s name and no one names their child that anymore, and that name was invented by Shakespeare!

blue collar names...
Neveah
Destiny
Chasity
Trinity
yadda yadda, are all "blue collar" names. Kamryn/Cameron/Kameron/Camryn will never be in that category. sorry

I think there are a lot of really rude posters on today. Really, if you have something to say, please think of a nicer way to say it. I mean, come on! "I was born between 1998 and 2010 to blue-collar parents."???? How uncivilized can you get?

OMG... arguing over names... what kind of children are on this site? Sorry I even asked =-/

Well said. I’m sorry you didn’t get the kind of response you were hoping for. Kamryn Raine is nice, if you’d consider it.

Kamryn is way more blue-collar than Cameron, the same way Mikayla is more blue-collar than Michaela.

OMG... arguing over names
Oh, the humanity. Who would have thought that people would argue about names on a public site devoted to baby names?

I think Kamryn is a very cute name for a girl. I don’t think it looks lazy or trashy at all! Some people may not like classic names. I would rather have a name like Kamryn than an old fashioned one like Catherine. IMO.

if you’re gonna use it spell it Cameron, i like Jade as a middle name, but what about

Cameron Isabella
Cameron Olivia
Cameron Scarlett
Cameron Jamie

Cameron is a unisex name and this is the way everyone is going to spell it on hearing it

I think Kamryn is cute enough for a *girl, but I don’t think it’s dignified enough for a *woman. Your baby is going to spend a lot more time being a woman than being a girl. Cameron is better for an adult, and she can be Cammie if Cameron doesn’t seem cute enough when she’s little.

We are also using Kamryn for our girl name (we love it, and it has that sporty vibe we are going for). We are using Sarah as our middle name (named for my cousin that recently passed away).

I just came across this post. I named my little girl Kamryn Jayde. And it suits her so well. We're of Celtic descent and if you check out the name history of Kamryn, it was originally a girl's name, not popularised as a boy name until last century.

Alright my name is Kamryn and my middle name fits perfectly! Kamryn Joy!
