Michael ? vs. Read & comment please

I adore the name Michael for a boy, but my name is Michaela (pronounced Mih-Kayla). Can I name my son Michael? I would use Joseph as a middle name and call him "MJ" as a nickname. What are your honest thoughts? Thanks! :)

You could. It’s quite common for kids to be named after a parent. That being said, I’ve never liked kids having the same name or a similar enough name to a parent that they could be confused with each other.
