Would it be awful to give my little girl the middle name Gray?? I have my heart set on Grace, but it is also my niece’s mn and don’t want to upset anyone if I use it.. I really want my daughter to have the G initial so this is one I thought of as an alternative if I need it - wdyt???? Thanks...

Maybe I should note that my husbands name is Gary - so it’s his name mixed up a bit - I don’t know if I’m sold on it tho...thanks.
I think you should stick with Grace, Gray just sounds like a boy to me. I don’t think it matters if cousins have the same mn as long as it isn’t the same fn.

It’s nice. How about you ask that relative if they would mind if you used Grace as the middle name. They’ll either say yeah it’s fine or no. My cousin if he was a girl was going to be Breanna Ashley, so my other Aunt asked if it would be ok if she used Ashley as my cousin Sarah’s middle name and she said it was fine. Turns out Breanna was a boy. But I’m just saying ask and see if it’s fine with them. If not what about Genevieve, Georgia or Gloria/Glory?

I think as a mn, it’s absolutely fine and the "twist" on your husband’s name is a nice touch. We did that w/ one of our daughter’s mn’s: Ross/Rose.

Use Gracelyn it close but still different. Or like pp said you could just ask. My cousin (which I’m close with) asked if it was ok to use the same middle name my son has for her son and I said I didn’t care. It’s just a middle name and you using it would be for different reasons than they did. Plus Grace is a really common middle name. It’s like how Lynn or Marie used to be.
