I wouls really consider giving her a more modern middle name incase she wants to go by something more.. you know... normal and not unheard of in the sense of being odd or outdated

Do you have any suggestions of what those names might be? - Rose H

Magda Jasmin
Magda Emerson

Magda Jade is ok, we’ll think about it. Thank you! - Rose H

This was my best friends name and she always gets teased! Ugly sounding name IMO

Don’t be ridiculous! Felicity is hardly ’odd or outdated’, Ruth is a timeless classic and Frances is currently making a comeback.
Magda is lovely! A breath of fresh air compared to faddy names like Reese and Emerson!
Besides, Magda is a form of Magdalena, everyone has heard of it. And if you’d picked a really ’normal’ name people would complain you’re not being ’unique’ enough. Magda is great, go with what you love.
I like Magda Felicity best! Good luck!

We also knew a girl named Magda, quite a while ago now. She really liked her name, so I guess it depends on the person and their environment. - Rose H

I also knew a girl, not a close friend but she had everyone call her "Macy" instead because she hated her name so much.

Also to an 18 year old girl, Felicity is very outdated. All I think of is American girl dolls

I’m sorry but this name just has the ugliest ring to it.. Not sure what the appeal is, I could never picture it on anyone except an old woman.

I think Magda is lovely! It’s refreshing to hear against all the Marley/Oakley/Bailey’s running around. (Sorry those are just the not so pretty names for girls I dislike)
Magda Ruth & Magda Felicity are both lovely!

Magda Louise
Magda Ruby

I’m only 22, so you’d think I’d have similar views to an 18 year old. Apparently not! As it happens, we don’t live in the US, so perhaps it’s less of an issue?

Magda Ruby was on our list! Be we decided we like the name Ruby too much so we’re saving it for a potential second daughter further down the road. - Rose H

As a 17 year old girl I’d much rather be named Marley or Oakley than Magda... Oh god. Sounds like something my great grandma wouls be named. I have a pretty trendy name right now (my name is Riley) and I love it, as a teen growing up I’ve always been thankful to have a modern name that nobody teased me about

Why target the Marley, Oakley, and Baileys on this site? It only seems to be on this particular site that those names are targeted. They’re not even in the top 100 for girls so not sure why their aroma on this site is "over used"

My name is Caroline and my sister’s name is Frances. Neither of us were teased for our names despite them both being ’old’. Also ’old names are in’ and OP said they don’t live in the US, if they live in the UK like me Magda would actually be very trendy (still unique, but very on style).

Do not care for Magda but the best of your combos is Magda Ruth

I see Marley a LOT on this site. Oakley and Bailey less so. I think it’s less to do with the names themselves and more that they accurately represent a certain trend which some people don’t like.

You 17 and 18 year olds, what are you doing here? I hope you’re not pregnant...

Is Marley really trendy...? My name is Marley. I’m 17 from the midwest, I’ve met quite a few other Marley/Marlee’s but they’re all my age (there’s 3 others in my high school alone) ... I actually get a lot of compliments on my name so I’m not sure why people are hating on it. LOL

This is all getting a bit dramatic, we just like the name Magda! There’s nothing wrong with more modern names either! We do live in the UK, our daughter will be in the same school year as some of our friend’s children: Henrietta, Edith and Arthur. Magda will not be out of place. Also we’re going to use the nn Maggie, which is quite popular right now. We’re not particularly worried about her hating her name, however more modern middle name suggestions are welcome and we’ll see if we like any. - Rose H

Oh well that explains it! In the US those names are VERY old fashioned and dated but since you’re in the UK Magda sounds like it fits in just fine.

MAGDA is a BEAUTIFUL name and I’m GLAD to see it being USED in 2016. Who needs these tryndeigh kre8ive modern names when we have names right here that stand the test of time like Felicity and Ruth. Now go somewhere!

Nobody was suggesting creative spelt names poster 22. Your presence here is irrelevant

could not agree more strongly with poster 6 and I’m from the US, I sometimes weep at the total ignorance of classic names and the embracing of the dreadful and faddy in this country. Magda Ruth is absolutely beautiful, both names flow well, both names are lovely, and delightful

Wow! Magda is a gorgeous name. Reading some of these comments is giving me a headache. It’s probably a coincidence and my head is healing from the emergency brain surgery I had exactly a week ago. Magda Ruth is absolute perfection

Lovely names, refreshing change.

I LOVE Magda Ruth & Magda Felicity; I in no way find Felicity boring or old-fashioned. Ruth is old-fashioned but is lovely and ready for a comeback.
I dislike the Marley/Bailey/Oakley names, as a previous poster mentioned. I think they are fine on a boy but not a girl and most on this site consider them for a girl. (That’s just my opinion and in no way am I dissing these names) I prefer old-fashioned over trendy, sorry.

Here’s some more modern suggestions paired with Magda:

Magda Wren
Magda Eloise
Magda Brynn
Magda Aeris
Magda Laurel
Magda Riley
Magda Shea/Shae/Shay

I do LOVE Maggie as the nickname!
