Penny could be a more feminine nickname. The most obvious nickname is Spence though.
Still don’t love Spencer. There are much better names out there.

Spencer is far too masculine, not remotely Unisex.

Spen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know 2 7 year old girls with the name. Both love their names. One is Spencer Louise Abstinence and one is Spencer Destiny

Spence.

Someone really gave their daughter the middle name Abstinence?! That’s a terrible name! I’m not sure I trust that parent’s judgement on names, so that extends to Spencer.

Spence, Penny, Spen, Encie.

Spencer and other unisex names should only be boys names

Dear last poster
I like Spencer I’m keeping it! I don’t think names should have genders and there are plenty of females named Spencer look it up. P.S this poll was to find a NN not to criticize my child’s name.

So you intend to name a boy Elizabeth then? Of course names have genders, it’s basic entomology!

No I would not use Elizabeth on a boy but it doesn’t really matter does it? I don’t like the name Elizabeth and I’m not having a boy so... I would name a boy Brooke Leah Ashley or Hailey those are all "female" names. I work in a nursery and I see parents name there baby’s names that are traditionally for the opposite sex. The thing is at our hospital no one cares if the baby has a "girl" or "boy" name we dint care what the parents names them and we don’t look down on the parents because it’s THEIR child do you think anyone in life will not do something or think down on someone for not liking the name? Spencer is used all the time on girls you can just look up "woman named Spencer" and a bunch will appear

If you search on behind the name, it says masculine

If you search name berry you’ll see there is male AND female you can also see a portion of the rating on Spencer on behind the names is feminine

Ryan also has a similar rating and it is used for both makes and females although Ryan only says masculine. Behind the name does have some flaws
posted by guest :: 7 years ago | report
It’s correct and one of the most reliable sites for facts, Ryan is a boy name even means little king. Spencer appears on no girl charts even statistically speaking it’s not Unisex.
