Hailey Kathleen vs. Hailey Katherine
Kathleen or Katherine as a middle name? My mom and grandmother were both Kathleen’s and I wanted to give my daughter the middle name after them, however I prefer Katherine and don’t really like Kathleen. Does it defeat the purpose not using Kathleen or do you think using Katherine as a variation of Kathleen will be OK?

Whoops, I voted on the names themselves without reading the poll. Personally, I really like Kathleen, but if you don’t I see NOTHING wrong with using a variant that you DO like. I just voted for Kathleen because I saw it as an underused variant, whereas Katherine is more often used as a mn, and I always go for the lesser used name. However, if you don’t like it, ABSOLUTELY go for Katherine. Good luck!

I’d go with Hailey Katherine. It flows better than Kathleen. And I believe it still honors them.
I think both honor her just as well!

I’d spell it Kathryn. I wouldn’t use Kathleen. Kathryn is so much prettier, and it gives your daughter a chance to honor those people, while still having her own name. GL!

It’s ok. It’s still honoring them. I prefer Katherine too and I think it flows better. If you love it, go for it.
