River Niall vs. River James vs. Lachlan James
Me and my husband have loved the name River Niall for our baby boy for a long time now but we’re worried that people will automatically think of the Nile river. Is that what you thought of? Do you think it would work? We also like River James and Lachlan James a lot as well but River Niall is by far our favorite.

If I saw River Niall I would think "this can’t be right. Didn’t they know about the Nile River?" So to answer your question, yes. Nerdly, I did think of that. It’s up to you whether or not that bothers you enough to not use the combo. Middle names aren’t used on a daily basis so he’s not likely to get teased much.
Cheer up. It could be much worse. I know a woman who was married to a Michael Hunt. He goes by Mike. Yup.

How often do people see or hear a person’s first and middle name unless they specifically ask what’s his/your middle name.

River Niall will be the butt of jokes.
River is so trendy at the moment. I’d avoid it. In school, teachers might include a child’s middle name to distinguish between all of the River and Grayson named children.
