Voopsie. Just checked. Anaximander was a philosopher, not a mathemetician (at least from a glance at the google search results).

Anaxander sounds made up. To me, it sounds like ’anorexic’ + alexander. Why not just name your son Rex?

Rex is one of my favorite male names. It’s so chic and strong. Anaxander is new to me. I had to look it up. I think I prefer the original Anaxandros so it isn’t constantly confused with Alexander. Or how about Anaximander, nn Rex? Ancient mathematician, I think. Other fun full names for Rex:
Melchior -- "MEL-kee-or," one of the Magi, it means "king city."
Reginald / Reginaldus
Waldemar -- means "famous rule / ruler"
Remigius -- "reh-MEE-jee-us," = oarsman
Vercingetorix -- Gaulish, means "king of warriors. I’ve only ever heard it as, "vur-sin-GHET-or-ix," but I imagine there could be more pronunciations out there.
