Love Logan for a girl! Logan Elizabeth is pretty . . .

Dylan and Logan are boy names. Avery is unisex unlike Logan and Dylan. Go ahead and "correct" me lol but Logan and Dylan are pure masculine. No need to slap a boy name on a girl.

I like Avery best, to me the others ones lean a bit too much to the boys whereas Avery is more unisex. Also, I just like the name Avery more.

Avery Louise
Avery Jane
Avery Calista
Avery Elizabeth
Avery Danielle
Avery Claire
Avery Juliana
Avery Melissa

If you’re going to go with a name like this, own it. There’s no reason to soften any of these names with a feminine middle name.

Dylan Alexander
Dylan Lucas
Dylan Garrett

Logan Kenneth
Logan Theodore
Logan Ross

Avery James
Avery Dominic
Avery Phillip

I like Avery, followed by Dylan, one if my best friends is named Dylan and she’s a girl.

There’s only one "girl" name listed here and that’s Avery since it is unisex. Wish people would learn what unisex actually means. Logan and Dylan are boy names. Just because you know someone with this name does not mean it’s unisex or ok on the opposite gender. It makes you look ridiculous.
Avery.

Unisex means any boy name. Avery didn’t used to be used for girls either. People just start using a boy name for girls and pretty soon it has a feminine vibe that prevents many parents of boys from using it. It’s the whole male=strong and female=weak thing that underlies our society. It’s okay to give a girl a strong masculine name but when that name becomes weakened by too much association with girls, it’s no good for boys anymore.

Too bad our social unconscious can’t accept that female names (and traits) are strong, too. Then we wouldn’t have people gender switching boy names in an attempt to find stronger "spunky" names for their girl and people dropping boy names used by girls because they’ve become feminine and "wimpy".

^^^ that’s a negative 👍🏻

So does that mean I can name my son Megan or a daughter Douglas?

Unisex doesn’t mean "any boy name". If that were true then equally "any girl name" could be plastered on to a boy and be accepted. NOT.

As for the original post/poster, controversy has arisen. Please reconsider the names for your little girl.

Just by looking at the responses on this page, it sounds like you (as the parent who chose Dylan/Logan/Avery for your daughter) will be judged a lot on this. It’s up to you if you want to deal with it or choose a name that is more commonly used with the female gender so you can skip it.

Yes, unisex means any boy name. And it’s not equal, it’s sexist. Look up the numbers on male vs. female babies with whatever name. The link below gets it’s info from the Social Security site, so it’s accurate for the US. You’ll find that the majority of male names have at least some girls given the name. Now look at historically female names. You’ll find very few that have any numbers but >5 in the boy column. They don’t record the number if it’s less than 5, so that often means 0.

Girls get boy names because that moves them up. Boys don’t get girl names because that would move them down. Sexist.

Look up "unisex definition" and tell me what you get. Because if that’s the case, and girl name can be unisex.

It’s just common sense and most people on here don’t have it.

Avery is unisex.
Logan all boy same as Dylan.
Plain and simple.

The definition is different from how it’s used in real life. You can call a garbage hauler a sanitary engineer but I doubt many of them have any engineering education. In real life, a garbage hauler is a garbage hauler and unisex names aren’t really unisex.

It’s only sexist if you make it sexist. In my opinion Dylan, Logan, and Avery are all girl names, but more common as a boy name. Some people many think these names are unisex others may think their boy names. Either way all of these names are pretty and I wish you the of luck.
