James Edward vs. George William vs. John David
We just told some folks we consider friends about the three names we’ve picked out for our son. Their response was "Why do you always give your kids such boring names?" Although we tried not to react to their comment much, when we got home we realized how much it hurts and truly, it has shaken us a bit. Our daughters are Anne Marie and Faye Louise. We’ve always loved their names and we really love James, George and John. We just need a bit of an impartial opinion right now. Thank you for your responses.

What some call "boring", others call timeless! Anne and Faye are both lovely, classic names. I voted James Edward for your new little one. Anne, Faye, and James is an adorable combo. Good luck to you!

James Edward and John David are strong, classic names! They aren’t silly, trendy, or made up. I say go for one of these.

You have to look at where the person saying this is coming from. Do their kids have trendy names or kr8tyve names? Probably their style of naming is very different from your’s. That’s just a personality thing, like some people liking bright colored clothes and others liking cooler colors. It was rude of them to say that about your kids’ names but it was only a personal taste thing.

Nothing boring at all with your name choices. I personally love classic, timeless names too. Mine are Katherine and Caroline! From your choices, James Edward gets my vote, although my favorite combination would really be James William. Good luck!
