Baby Name Poll Results

I was just on our local hospital’s net nursery looking at a friend’s baby and I noticed that here had been 3 Paxton’s born in the last month. Though one was spelled Paxxton, which I thought was odd. So Paxton might be getting ready to be more popular.

Looking at the history of each name, they’re all climbing and have been climbing steadily for at least the last five years. Rhett had hovered in about the same popularity ranking for the previous fifteen years. Paxton and Roman have been climbing steadily for the previous fifteen years. Maddox was basically unknown until 2002 when it jumped hugely and then continued to climb. I think 2002 must have been the year after Angelina Jolie named her oldest kid Maddox.

Roman is the only one close to the top 100. It’s at 102 as of 2015 and if it continues it’s trajectory (and I see no reason why it wouldn’t), it will probably be in the low 90’s for 2016. That’s probably your best bet for the one that will break into higher popularity levels soonest.

I’d say Rhett will be least likely to break into that popularity level. Though it’s harder to tell with that because lots of people use Rhett as a nickname for Everett, so you’d have to combine the numbers there.
