All boy names get used for girls, but Keegan is one of those with predominately male usage. According to the Social Security admin, in 2015 there were 1,337 boys named Keegan vs. 128 girls named Keegan born in the US. This is not a fluke, Keegan has always been much more commonly used on boys.

The only Keegan I know is a girl

I’ve known a few Keegan’s in my life and they’re all male.

Definitely boy. However, I don’t like the name as it reminds me of the word Kegal

It sounds girly to me. Probably because of Teagan, Keely, etc.

I prefer Keegan on a boy; it just sounds too harsh for a girl.

Another option could be Keaton/Keatyn for a girl; which I love.

The only Keegan I know is a little girl and it is perfect on her! She is a cute, spunky 6 year old.

Boy.

I don’t care for the name in general, but it is definitely a boy name. Keely or Reagan would be a better option if you’re looking for a girl name.

I have only heard Keegan as a girls name. Guess it depends on your region. However, many of those names are becoming gender neutral so use it as you want

Boy name, always has been, never intended for a girl, and should never be used on one by anyone with any sense. For girls there’s Keeva which is the English spelling in Gaelic its Caoimhe
