I had a student named Nia. I think with the popularity of Mia, a lot of people will mishear Nia as Mia. Just use whichever you like best.

I don’t see how people will get confused or mistaken her as Mia if she decides on using Nia.
Both are great names! My vote is for Nia because like you said Mia is popular.

It’s a fine name, but I agree with others it will get misunderstood for Mia. Not when it’s written but when someone asks what her name is.
