Gemma vs. Yes vs. No

I have a 15 year old daughter named Jade. Now my husband and I are expecting another daughter in November. We really like the name Gemma but are worrisome that it is too close to Jade. They will be far apart in age but despite the inlikliness that they will be close we don’t want them to have their names too close. Thoughts and opinions are appreciated! Mary Anne

Gemma is beautiful, as is Jade. If you’re worried about them being too close, perhaps talk to Jade? See if she thinks the name is too close to her own and see how she feels about it. If she is fine with it, and you and your husband love it, then go for it!

Have you thought of any other names that you may like?
