Dashiell & Violet vs. Yes vs. No

We have a two year old named Dashiell. He was named for Dashiell Hammett. I would love to name this baby Violet if it is a girl after my grandmother, but someone mentioned a kids movie with Dashiell and Violet as siblings. Is this a deal breaker? I’ll take names for boys or girls (maybe with Violet as a middle) to go with Dashiel’s name.

I love that film and I didn’t get the reference until you mentioned that they were siblings in a film. I don’t think it’s a deal breaker, the film is fairly old (though there is a sequel coming), it’s a kids film where both characters are the ’goodies’ and to be honest I don’t think people will get it. In the film Violet is older and Dashiel almost always goes by Dash. Personally I think it’s quite a fun link between sibling names (just don’t name a future son Jack!)

Definitely not a deal breaker! And I honestly don’t think that many people would even know the movie or make that connection.

I think it’s fine! They might even think it’s cool if they ever watch to movie. I would think it’s cool. Dashiell and Violet make a wonderful pair for brother and sister!

Oh yeah I just remembered Dashiell and Violet Parr. The Incredibles 2 comes out in 2019.
